Vampire: The Masquerade

Word would get back to Kindred with Contacts, Allies, or Herd in the city that there's been some hush hush and light coverups regarding people disappearing for a few days at a time, the ones that are turning up usually do so a few days later. Most do not remember where they were or what happened to them. A small number of them were dead from a deadly venom. The venom itself is rather benign to humans in small amounts, but the amount found in the bodies of those found dead is alarming.

The people disappearing are from all levels across city government and public services. Mayoral assistants, members of hospital boards, and police lieutenants. So far none of it has made the public news, meaning that the Prince has very likely heard the rumors or had first-hand conversations with some of those that have returned alive.

Word would make it around through official channels that this, as well as the strange deaths earlier in the year and increased gang violence a few months ago were all tied back to a "werespider" - a creature most thought was extinct, but just seems to be very rare.

Thankfully an agreeable solution was found between the creature and the Prince, sparing what otherwise looked to be a losing fight.
